THE EDGE OF TOWN is an engrossing Depression era novel and the first book in Dorothy Garlock's "Jones Family" series. With kind and lovable leading characters (Julie & Evan) it was without a doubt an enjoyable read from start to finish/5(51). The Edge of Town was a remarkably well crafted story that kept the mystery until the very last chapter.

I was almost finished reading it and getting very tired toward the end. I set the book aside to prolong the reading pleasure for one more night/5. This is Dorothy Garlock's best work yet. The story takes place in the years after World War II, and centers around the Jones family and Evan Johnson.

Darkness on the Edge of Town is in some ways, a typical police procedural/ suspense novel-- but it differs in how well-crafted the story line is and how well developed the characters are.

I'd recommend this book to just about anyone looking for a nail-biting crime novel/5. "Enemy on the Edge of Town" is a historical adventure novel of approximat words. No cliffhangers, only pure unadulterated action/5().

Darkness on the Edge of Town by Adam Christopher is the second official Stranger Things novel in a series exploring other side stories set in the world of the show.

These stand-alone books are great for fans who will no doubt appreciate a lot of the references and Easter eggs scattered about the story, but technically you dont need any prior knowledge to jump right in and enjoy it /5.

The little town of Fertile, Missouri between the wars is the setting for this novel of love, crime, and secrets. There are lots of characters and subplots, but three main threads emerge.

The first thread is about Julie Jones, an innocent, wholesome farm girl who left school at age fifteen when her mother fell sick. Since her mother’s death, Julie has taken care of the house and her father. DARKNESS ON THE EDGE OF TOWN, by Brian Keene, is a novel with elements that first reminded me of King's UNDER THE DOME, or THE MIST; however, the further I got into the story, the more its originality became apparent/5.

Stranger Things: Darkness on the Edge of Town is the second official novel to be released and it is probably destined to be a fan favorite since it is all about Jim Hopper. With her hardcover debut, THE EDGE OF TOWN, she simply outdoes is s and Julie Jones has been left to care for her five young brothers and sisters while her father tends their farm just outside of Fertile, Missouri, her mother having died in a flu epidemic four years Johnson has returned to town years after leaving to live with his 5/5(5).
